Theoretical and Methodological Principles of Professional Psychological Selection of Servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine
Abstract
The purpose of the study is determination of modern state of professional psychological selection as a psychodiagnostical method and development of psychodiagnostic perspectives of servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine. The methodological basis of the work is dialectical approach as philosophical method of analyzing phenomena, the empirical basis of which is analytical reviews of the experience and results of the professional activities of servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine. It is noted that the harsh present requires strengthening the comprehensive study and psychological support of the military and professional activities of the personnel of the National Guard of Ukraine. In turn, the requirements for military personnel of the National Guard of Ukraine, as well as for the selection of candidates for military service and its effectiveness, are being increased. A qualitative psychological study of the personnel of the National Guard of Ukraine takes an important place in determining the combat capability of not only one serviceman, but also the entire unit, which is present at the same time when making operational decisions of the combat command. It is claimed that knowledge and understanding of the elements of psychological assessment and the correct use of diagnostic information have a positive effect on the rating and authority of the commander (chief), and also adds confidence to the serviceman in difficult service conditions. The scientific novelty consists in summarizing and substantiating the organizational features of the modern process of professional psychological selection of servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine. Conclusions. Professional psychological selection is the initial stage of psychological support of future servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine, which includes a set of measures that ensures the compliance of the individual psychological qualities of the serviceman with the requirements of professional activity and is aimed at improving the quality of staffing of units. In the National Guard of Ukraine, psychological selection is based not only on qualitative, but also on enough clear quantitative criteria and assessments of a person's professional relevance for military service. The basis of the effective conducting of assigned tasks, especially under martial law, are: verification of psychological readiness and serviceableness of citizens during conscription (acceptance) for military service in the National Guard of Ukraine, their future obtanation of military specialties, protection of the psychological health of servicemen of the National Guard Guards of Ukraine, minimizing the influence of stress factors of service and combat activities, creating a foundation for timely psycho-corrective work, maintaining the psycho-emotional state of servicemen at the qualitatively necessary level for the de-actualization of negative psychological states. All this determines the defense capability and combat capability of the entire unit and demonstrates the necessity for an experimental analysis of the professional selection of various categories of servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine.
